Depressed LOs vs Happy ones

Depressed LOs vs Happy ones…

You know who I’m talking about.

There’s a difference between the LOs that have grown away from the mortgage industry… and the LOs that have grown with the industry.

One leads to feelings of burnout, boredom, and self-doubt.

The other leads to optimism, opportunity, and a sense of direction.

Let’s face it… running your mortgage business with feelings of burnout, boredom, and self-doubt… is a losing game.

This is entirely unsustainable and frankly… it’s not human.

It was fun when you first started out. Chasing the opportunity of financial and time freedom. What’s not to love about that?

But, then a shift happens…

You become bored… less motivated… less inspired.

THIS. IS. NORMAL.

The worst thing that you can do when this happens to you is to take it personally. Most Loan Officers get defensive…

They say things like:
“I have everything I have always wanted… I should be grateful.”
“My life is amazing… I ought to be satisfied.”
“I’ve been blessed in this career… Why do I feel like quitting?”

Listen… If you feel like you “should be” grateful or satisfied… There’s something bigger going on here.

True gratitude isn’t something you need to practice. It happens when you are genuinely grateful. For entrepreneurs and high-achievers, gratitude is achieved differently than most people. For us, we experience gratitude when we are given the opportunity to help someone using our passion and unique abilities.

If you are not using your passion or unique abilities… no gratitude will be felt.

This doesn’t mean that you aren’t grateful. It means that you are designed to do bigger things in this world. Writing in your gratitude journal just isn’t enough for you…. And that’s a good thing! You were designed to be grateful when you use your unique skills to make an impact.

The same goes for satisfaction.

Feeling satisfied is not something that can be artificially created. You are either satisfied with the person you have become… or you aren’t. Again, this is a good thing! Being financially successful and still feeling unsatisfied is one of the greatest honors there is. It means that you are designed to do so much more than stack up cash.

Satisfaction and fulfillment comes to those that use their unique abilities to create a change that excites them.

Until you do this… you will always feel like there’s more out there for you.

And, you’re not wrong… There is.
